New Navadwip
Nabadwip, a revered pilgrimage site in West Bengal, India, lies where the sacred Ganga River branches into a web of distributaries, naturally forming nine lotus-shaped islands—a central whirl encircled by eight petals. Each island in this holy geography represents one of nine cherished spiritual practices: hearing, chanting, remembering, serving, worshiping, praying, embracing servitude to the Divine, cultivating intimate friendship with God, and surrendering oneself entirely in love. Here in Hawaii, our temple is inspired by this sacred place, aspiring to reflect and embody the same spirit of devotion.
Pancha Tattva
The Pancha Tattva represent five divine aspects, each manifesting to share the profound blessing of love for God. These personalities appeared with unique roles in the sacred mission of distributing God’s love.
At the center stands Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, Krishna Himself, embodying the role of a devotee. He came to experience divine love personally and to reveal it, inspiring others by leading them in the singing of Krishna’s holy names, thereby radiating love and compassion.
Srila prabupada
Memorial Tirtha
Since 1969, His Divine A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the founder-acharya of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, has been distributing the matchless gifts of Krishna Consciousness throughout the Hawaiian Islands. Between 1974 and 1976, His Divine Grace devoted the early morning hours to translating and expounding India’s ancient Vedic literature, especially swiftly here in Hawaii, in his room upstairs. That is how these grounds became a tirtha, or holy place.
